Belek is famous for golf greens and long sandy beaches, but its most entertaining day happens offshore. The Alibaba is an excursion ship in full pirate costume — bright paintwork, rigging overhead, a crew who play their parts — and for around seven hours it turns the water between Belek and Antalya into a floating playground.
The day starts at your hotel door: transfers collect guests across the Belek belt, Kadriye and Boğazkent included, and deliver you to the boat. Once under way, anchor drops for swimming alternate with entertainment on deck — pirate games for the kids, dance music for everyone else, and the famous foam party somewhere in the middle.
Lunch is a barbecue cooked on board, and the bar sells cold drinks all day (they are not part of the ticket). Wear shoes with grip: a galleon deck has steps, ropes and ladders, which is precisely the fun of it — though it makes the trip a poor match for guests with limited mobility.
